The Assembly is a highly anticipated event on the CWM calendar when the member Churches gather for worship, fellowship and the sharing and celebration of God’s work in their different ministries. In coming together as one family to read, reflect, respond and recommit, relationships are built and reinforced.
An important feature of the Assembly Programme is the election of the governing body – the Council. The Council has oversight of all the affairs of the organization and is accountable for all legal and fiduciary concerns associated with CWM work, they must display openness and spiritual discernment, energy and passion for the tasks given and have a clear sense of what it means to be a leader in a high mission profile and a follower of Christ.
In addition to the election, the Assembly Programme includes worship, bible study, prayer time and two cultural nights. It is an exciting opportunity for interaction amongst the delegates, speakers, ecumenical guests, regional secretaries, host church and CWM staff.
